Potipot Island, Zambales

It has been a while since my last entry to this blog. I'm back with good memories to share and this is my recent solo, unexpected escapade to the northern part of the Philippines.

Potipot Island is one of the best places for family outing - also the best haven for the broken-hearted, for those who soul-search and for those who want to disconnect from work duties and stress.

Located at Candelaria, Zambales, going to this pristine island takes about 7-8 hours of land travel. Since it is my first time going to Potipot, I am not sure if there are shorter routes to get there. I only searched some blogs on the net.

Anyway, here's what I've read and followed:

1. Ride a Victory Liner bus from Pasay to Olongapo.
2. From Victory Liner - Olongapo terminal, take another bus ride to Sta Cruz.
3. Tell the driver to get you to Dawal Beach Resort - one of the nearest points to Potipot Island.
4. Take a boat ride to Potipot Island.

I left Pasay at 1PM and arrived by 8:30PM in Dawal Beach Resort - that's already an "express" ride. Haha.

I even asked for the resort rate and it was P1,800 (good for 2 persons).

The thrifty character in me always win so - I decided not to stay in the resort but instead on the nearby waiting shed until the morning. Hahaha!

It was fun, I swear. Luckily, I am safe. You know it's province, you can only hear the bats' noise and tricycle/bus winding horns.

I didn't even worry for the foods. I just ordered packed foods and water in the area since there are no commodities sold in the island.
My arrival to Potipot Island was one of my most memorable experiences considering that I travel solo. The sea was so calm, the place made me feel like I'm in heaven where all your stress and problems are gone.

Well, I don't have any problems why I went there, I just wanted to experience how it feels like to be alone - when no one bothers you and when you can do all you want do - to be free!

Attitude Matters

"Your attitude towards yourself and to other people determines who you really are. One's attitude matters on some difficult situations. Take some of your time for self-assessment and start to change anything that's not good. Though change may not happen in an instant, at least you're trying to make yourself a better person not just for yourself but for others, too!"

Be Inspired

"Being totally inspired is not just about having a partner. You can be inspired by your family, friends and the things that you love. It's not bad that sometimes you long for a partner's affection and that only makes you more human. If fate does not allow you to be together, then celebrate your singleness and thank God more. You'll never know what's in store for you."

Learn from Others

"Always look up to other people and learn from them. That was it's all about: learning from every single experience and practicing what others had mastered doing."

Smile and Be Confident

"One of the keys to building self-confidence is being TRUE to yourself! Confidence cannot be measured though, it just radiates from within. Let your inner self be shown on the way you think and act. Try to look at yourself in front of the mirror, just plain, vague right? Now, try to smile from deep within. Don't you see those sparkling eyes even if your lips didn't move? They say that "eyes are the window to the soul". True enough!"

Keep Things in Perspective

"There is always pressure in every job that you do, and that depends on how you handle them. Keep things in perspective and do your best to overcome every single situation. Do not forget to ask help from God, He's always there waiting to listen."

God is Ever Faithful

"People's faith to God may change; but God is ever faithful and will never leave us in despair. Appreciate every single blessing no matter what it is."
